You will play a pivotal role in the design process, ensuring that the architectural concepts are accurately represented in technical drawings and elevations. Your expertise will be crucial in communicating design intent to construction teams, consultants, and clients.

Job Title: Draftsperson

Job Description:

As a Draftsperson, you will play a key role in the architectural and engineering design process by creating detailed technical drawings and plans. Your primary responsibility will be to translate conceptual designs into accurate and comprehensive drawings that guide construction teams in building structures. You will collaborate closely with architects, engineers, and other professionals to ensure that drawings adhere to project requirements and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Technical Drawing: Produce detailed drawings, including plans, elevations, sections, and details, using computer-aided design (CAD) software Chief Architect Premier Pro.

2. Design Support: Assist architects and engineers in developing design concepts by creating initial sketches and refining them into precise technical drawings.

3. Drafting Standards: Ensure that drawings comply with relevant drafting standards, building codes, and regulations, as well as internal design guidelines.

4. Coordination: Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other team members to coordinate drawings with various disciplines, such as structural, mechanical, and electrical systems.

5. Documentation: Maintain organized documentation of drawings and revisions, ensuring that all changes are accurately recorded and communicated to the project team.

6. Quality Assurance: Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, and clarity, identifying and resolving any discrepancies or conflicts in the design.

7. Communication: Communicate effectively with project team members to understand design requirements, clarify technical details, and address any issues that arise during the drafting process.

8. Deadline Management: Manage workload and prioritize tasks to meet project deadlines, adjusting schedules as necessary to accommodate changes in project scope or requirements.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Drafting Technology, Architecture, Engineering, or related field.

• Proficiency in Chief Architect Premier, Sketchup, and 3D Warehouse, and an Apple/iCloud ecosystem.

• Strong understanding of architectural and engineering principles, including construction techniques and materials.

• Knowledge of building codes, zoning regulations, and industry standards relevant to architectural drafting.

• Attention to detail and accuracy in creating technical drawings and specifications.

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

• Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving technical challenges.

• Experience working in a design or architectural firm is preferred but not required.

Additional Skills (Preferred):

• Familiarity with Building Information Modeling (BIM) software and practices.

• Experience with 3D modeling and rendering software such as Sketchup, or AI tools for conceptual visualization purposes.

• Certification or licensure as a drafter or drafting technician may be advantageous.
